Atelier ter Bekke & Behage “Travaux / Works”
From 18 November 2022 to 15 Februari 2023

To celebrate Atelier ter Bekke & Behage’s 25th anniversary, this exhibition illustrates their abundant course through a selection of works. Their creations are presented as a thematic and non-chronological set in 3 parts:

Reflexions
The first part of the exhibition is about the working process, ideas development and the intentions, shown through drawings and models, in order to demonstrate the way the Atelier places the reflexions and creation at the centre of their work.

Applications
The second part is dedicated to the applications of the reflexions on “small” printed items, such as leaflets, flyers, stationery or even seasons booklets for theatre and museums… These small items are mainly printed in offset and they illustrate the complexity of the visual languages created for the commissioner institutions.
A specific highlight is shed on the relationship between graphic design and architecture, through their work on the signposting for the Musée National Adrien Dubouché de Limoges (France).

Immersion
The third part of the exhibition illustrates the serial work of the Atelier with an abundant display of more than 150 large format posters, printed in silk-screen. Two types of works are shown here: the posters series produced for theatres such as La Colline or l’Odéon (France) merged to singular productions created for other institutions.
Contrary to huge advertising campaigns, the Atelier should find solutions to create “less but better”, with stand out posters that are viewable in the public space.

The set design is a collaboration between Kévin Cadinot and Atelier ter Bekke & Behage, soundtrack by Bertrand Gauguet.
